The most important building block when pursuing an active lifestyle in the martial arts is nutrition

Mind.  Body.  Spirit.

The Mind.  We all know that martial arts has been an effective tool for weight loss!  But martial arts training requires sharp mental focus to combat fatigue, injury, self-doubt, anxiety, just to name a few.  The mind will learn at warp speed as you master techniques you never thought possible.  For fighters, it is critical that they are on a disciplined track of mental clarity so they can achieve their goals in competition.  The mind can be for you, or against you at times as we all experience.  Imagine being unable to perform at your very best because you simply cannot grasp a new concept for a technique you just learned.  It can be very discouraging!  Having a sharp mind will allow information to process faster and with more efficiency as you combat with an opponent.  Mental clarity is where it's at!

The Body.  The best part:  transforming your body.  What do you think people value most in life?  Their health or the way they look?  We have seen people try crash diets, scary detox cleanses, "skinny pills", rapid weight loss products, and starvation in order to achieve a certain look they are going for.  What ends up happening is the opposite result that they want.  This vicious cycle many people put themselves through have caused major health problems because they are missing the key component to transforming their body:  nutrition.  The human body's cells require optimal nutrition in every area when you are exercising vigorously, not to mention cell oxidation, which leads to degenerative disease.  A healthy balance of the right food, supplementation, and exercise will give you maximum results, with long term health benefits.  The way you look will reflect what you are on the inside:  in a state of balance.

The Spirit.  An important part to martial arts training.  While training and feeding the mind and body, your spirit is simultaneously getting huge upgrades.  Not only are you thinking clearer, have more energy, and sleeping better, but your mood and self confidence are making major strides.  The spirit within you is dancing for joy because you are fully expressing yourself through the art of movement and self-defence at the same time as providing maximum cellular growth and communication.  With a healthy body and mind, your spirit naturally will sore, allowing true inspiration and motivation to give you opportunities in life you never thought possible.
